"Those who conceal their sins do not prosper, but those who confess and forsake them obtain mercy."
Proverbs 28:13
In the sacrament of Reconciliation, the priest acts with the authority and commission of Christ to forgive the penitent's sins (cf. Mt. 16:19 and Jn. 20:22-23).
Children prepare for their First Confession within the context of preparing for their First Holy Communion. This normally occurs during 2nd grade. For students not enrolled in a Catholic school, our Sacramental Preparation program is offered on Wednesday evenings during the academic year. Registration opens in August each year.
For more information about the program, read here. If you have any additional questions or special circumstances, please contact Linda Wandrei at Linda.Wandrei@hfcmn.org.
Registration for 2022-2023 year sacramental prep is now open!
Select "2nd grade" in our Registration for Religious Education form to sign your child up for First Holy Communion and First Reconciliation.
