"They drove out many demons, and they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them."
Mark 6:13
In the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, the priest prays and anoints the sick person with blessed oil which brings the forgiveness of sins and can facilitate physical healing (cf. James 5:14-15).
It is prudent to receive the Anointing of the Sick prior to serious operations, when suffering from the effects of old age, or whenever there is danger of death.
Those who are in need of this Sacrament should contact the parish office at 952.929.0113 to make arrangements. Please do not wait until death is imminent as a priest is not always immediately available.
In case of medical emergencies outside of office hours, please call the parish office and follow the instructions given for after-hours emergencies in order to page the priest on call.
Most hospitals have a Catholic chaplain on call. You may also ask the hospital staff to assist you in contacting a priest through their chaplain's office.
