Preparation for the Sacraments of Confession and Holy Eucharist

Second grade preparation for the Sacraments of Confession and Holy Eucharist is a joyful and exciting year for Holy Family students and their families. The Holy Family program is based on the writings of Father Aloysius J. Heeg, S.J. Father Heeg is a master in covering the Sacraments thoroughly and beautifully at a 2nd grade level using basic Catholic prayers (Our Father, Hail Mary, Act of Contrition, Angel of God, etc.) as a guide. We have also worked hard to produce a detailed children’s Examination of Conscience. The 2nd grade year also includes: First Confession and First Holy Communion Interviews (to make sure the children are properly prepared.) First Confession Children’s Retreat First Holy Communion Children’s Retreat Banner Making Workshop (banners mark the ends of the pews during the First Holy Communion Mass) First Holy Communion Catholic Songs for Children: A Visit With Jesus and To Be A Saint! Our goal is to help parents properly form and prepare second grade students for Confession and Holy Communion by helping them understand God's great love for them shown in these two tremendous Sacraments. We want to help parents solidly form their children for life!
