At Holy Family, we encourage our parish families to present their newborn infants for the Sacrament of Baptism soon after birth because this sacrament is the foundation of the Christian life. In Baptism the child, freed from original sin, becomes an heir to the Kingdom of God, receiving the theological virtues of faith, hope, and charity, and the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. Through Baptism the child now has access to the other sacraments.
Arrangements for infant baptism must be made in advance:
- Please call the parish office at 952.929.0113 to schedule your child's Baptism date (Baptisms are on the first Sunday of the month); if it is your first time or has been over three years since you had a child baptized, the parish office will help you schedule a preliminary Baptism meeting with Deacon Jim Meyer (which must be completed at least one week prior to the Baptism).
+ A copy of your child's birth certificate
+ Both forms, below, completed and sent "Attn: Kathy Fink" via fax, mail, or at email@example.com :
1) This Registration Form
2) This Godparent Form, completed by each Godparent (The Godparent/s must obtain their pastor’s signature on this form so the baptism may be recorded in Holy Family’s Baptismal Register.)
Please contact the parish with any questions at 952.929.0113.
