Perpetual Adoration Chapel
WHAT IS PERPETUAL ADORATION?
Perpetual Adoration is a Eucharistic devotion where members of a parish unite in taking one hour of adoration before Jesus, truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament, both during the day and throughout the night, seven days a week. Perpetual Adoration is a beautiful and practical way of rendering Our Lord adoration for He is truly our God, and of giving Him thanks for all of our countless blessings. It is also a wonderful way of making reparation to Him for our sins and the sins of the whole world and of petitioning Him for the constant help we need.
WHAT ARE THE “GOOD FRUITS” OF PERPETUAL ADORATION?
There are many “good fruits” of Perpetual Adoration! Here are just a few:
• An increase in Mass attendance and reception of the Sacraments
• A return of fallen away Catholics and an increase in the number of conversions
• An increase in religious and priestly vocations
• A renewal of Catholic family life
• A greater community spirit - for Jesus Christ is loved and adored in the heart
of the parish!
HOW DO I SPEND AN HOUR WITH JESUS IN THE ADORATION CHAPEL?
Jesus wants you to spend this time with Him in any way you would like. You may bring your own prayer books, use the books in the chapel, read the Bible, pray the rosary, or just sit and enjoy the sweet peace that comes from simply being in the Presence of God. You may think, “I don’t pray very well. My mind often wanders.” Don't let this discourage you! The mere fact that you take time at a specific hour each week to spend with Jesus pleases Him very much and is in itself a prayer of great faith. Please know that Perpetual Adoration is going on in our parish not just for a day, a week, a month, or a year. Rather, it is for always - it’s perpetual!
Jesus is here 24/7 for you to come visit Him in the Adoration Chapel. You can come anytime. However, many people sign up for a specific Holy Hour as their own time with Jesus each week. We need committed adorers to ensure that Jesus, truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament, is never left alone.
