Confirmation preparation at Holy Family is a one-year program for high school students who are ready to deepen their relationship with Christ and take on His mission of spreading the Gospel. These classes help the young men and women to deepen their prayer lives and to better understand and defend a variety of issues related to our Catholic Faith. Our goal is to assist young people to embrace their Faith whole-heartedly, love God joyfully, and bring Him into the world fearlessly, all with the assistance of the powerful sacramental grace of Confirmation.
In order to enhance the process of preparation for the reception of Confirmation, we are adding a parent component to our requirement for reception of the sacrament: a mandatory and more personal parent meeting. Confirmation, the sacrament of initiation which bestows upon the recipient gifts which strengthen the confirmand for his or her mission within the life of the Church, is often one of the least understood of all of the sacraments. In order to assist our confirmands in preparation for the reception of this great Sacrament, we will be providing time for parents to meet with Fr. Joseph, Deacon Jim, or John Hartnett to provide time to answer questions, clarify understanding, etc., to assist parents as they help prepare their children for reception of Confirmation.
We are providing a variety of times. Sign up for one of the times provided here as part of the registration process. All of the meetings will be in the office adjacent to Fr. Moorman Hall. The meeting will be brief and will last no more than 30 minutes.
I look forward to meeting you!
